1. Who we are
Alexander Kippe Fine Art (operating as A Plus Pic LLC, a Michigan limited liability company) sells fine art photography through our gallery at 4250 Main Street, Bay Harbor, Michigan 49770, and through this website. "We," "us," and "the gallery" refer to A Plus Pic LLC. "You" means the person visiting this website or purchasing from us.
2. The artwork
All photography on this website is the original work of Alexander Kippe and is protected by United States and international copyright law. Purchasing a piece transfers ownership of the physical object only — all reproduction, display, and licensing rights remain with the artist. No reproduction, scanning, printing, AI training, or derivative use is permitted without prior written consent.
3. Editions & pieces
Each piece is produced on aluminum sublimation at the size and medium you select at checkout. Where editions are limited, the edition size is disclosed on the piece's detail page. Select panels are rated for exterior display; the rating for your specific piece is confirmed in writing before shipment.
4. Pricing
All prices are shown in United States dollars and do not include sales tax, shipping, or framing upgrades unless explicitly stated. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors before acceptance of an order.
5. Ordering & payment
Placing an order is an offer to buy. The order is accepted when we send an order confirmation. Payment is captured at the time of acceptance. We accept the major card networks and bank transfers for large-format commissions. Credit-card processing is performed by our payment processor; we do not store card data.
6. Sales tax
Michigan sales tax (6%) is collected on orders shipped to Michigan addresses and on walk-in purchases at the gallery. For shipments to other states, you are responsible for any use tax owed to your own state unless we are registered in that state for sales-tax collection. If your state's rules change — or if we expand our nexus — the tax shown at checkout will be updated accordingly.
7. Shipping
Most pieces ship via insured freight within the continental United States. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the order's subtotal. Orders over $10,000 are coordinated as white-glove freight and quoted individually after order confirmation. International shipping is available by request; duties and import taxes are the recipient's responsibility.
8. Damage in transit
Inspect your piece at the time of delivery. If there is visible damage, refuse delivery or note the damage on the carrier's bill of lading, and contact us within 48 hours. We will replace or refund at our discretion once we receive the carrier's damage confirmation.
9. Returns
Because each piece is produced to order on aluminum sublimation, sales are final except where the work arrives damaged, is not as described, or is returned under the right-of-first-refusal terms of a commission agreement. Custom commissions are non-refundable once approved proofs have been signed off.
10. Commissions
Commissions are governed by a separate written agreement describing the subject, deliverables, schedule, deposit, and licensing. A 50% deposit is required to begin; the balance is due upon final approval. Unused location fees, model releases, and similar third-party costs are the client's responsibility.
11. Gallery events & gatherings
Events held at the gallery under our "Gather at the Gallery" program are governed by a short-form rental agreement issued at booking. Guests are expected to respect the work; any damage to artwork, frames, or gallery fixtures is the responsibility of the host.
12. Intellectual property & website use
All content on this website — photographs, copy, page design, the wax-seal mark, the Alexander Kippe wordmark — is our property or licensed to us. You may view and print pages for personal reference. You may not scrape, re-host, incorporate into AI training data, or use any content commercially without written permission.
13. Privacy & mailing list
We collect only what we need to fulfill your order and keep you informed: name, email, shipping address, phone (optional), and purchase history. We do not sell or rent your information. Mailing-list signups can be removed at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to info@alexanderkippe.com.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the piece giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or claims of aesthetic disappointment once a piece has been delivered and installed.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith discussion will be heard by the state or federal courts sitting in Emmet County, Michigan, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its effective date. Material changes will be noted to anyone with an open order or active commission.
